Second Week: From Hectic Weeks to Special Moments
The first week of classes was somehow enjoyable and nice, filled mostly with introductions, orientations and catching up with friends. However, the second week felt like months instead of simply a week. Even though only a week has gone by, we were already overloaded with many school assignments and performance tasks.
For the second week, we had a performance task where we had to introduce our group using our group name, which is Enrique Villasis. As we don't have enough time to practice, we made good use of our free time in the morning since our classes starts at 12:30. Our performance was for the first subject of the day, which is 21st-century literature. I was nervous when our turn came, as we had just had a brief practice before the teacher started the class. However, I did quite enjoy it that I was relieved since most of our classmates clapped. I will not say that we were the best, though I feel pretty sure in myself that our performance was the best compared to the rest of our classmates.
Aside from the school works and performance tasks, my friends and I also managed to spare some time to surprise someone special in my life. After class we headed straight to Baleno to bring her a cake and celebrate her birthday. I was really excited to go to Baleno because I missed her so much. We spent a great time together, catching up on our lives since we’d been apart. That day was especially memorable for me because it was our first time celebrating her birthday together.
After all the fun, I ended up having a fever and a cough. I also remembered that we will have UPCAT the next day. I immediately checked my phone for reviewers, but I couldn’t focus because of my fever and cough. I felt too tired and lazy to study properly. Even though I was sick, I still decided to take the exam so I wouldn’t miss the opportunity and I won't regret of not taking the exam. The exam was really challenging since I hadn’t studied, but I still tried my best to answer as many questions as I could. Even though I was hoping to pass, I knew I had to give it my all despite the circumstances.
The second week was definitely the most hectic week so far. Although the week was filled with activities and challenges, I was still happy for having another special moments in my life. The experience taught me how crucial perseverance and adaptability are, even with setbacks, one has to look at making the best of things and rise above it.
